Hello! My name is Jennifer and I am honored to use my gift of visual storytelling to serve my community. My clients appreciate that I am highly professional, prepared for anything, and I am 100% present in every step of the video production process.
I’ve always been a creative storyteller. My childhood was full of painting, drawing, and creative writing. In college I took fine art classes while refining my professional writing skills in the School of Journalism & Mass Communication at UW-Madison. For 11 years I worked in professional portrait photography, further developing my skills in professional portrait lighting, composition, and digital image editing. My five years working in financial services has brought a corporate-level polish to my videography work.
I am a mom of two amazing young girls and wife to my soulmate of 11 years. I enjoy losing myself in great music, spending late nights video editing, practicing yoga and meditation, devouring personal development audiobooks, and getting outside with my family. I am fun loving, good natured, and passionate about making an impact.
I simply cannot get enough of the latest Lord Huron album, Long Lost. I will say that it is way more country western than I tend to gravitate, but I am so into the soulfulness of it. Favorite folk/alt-rock tracks of late are "Phoenix" by Big Red Machine (feat. Fleet Foxes and Anais Mitchell), "For Sure" by Future Islands, and "Run It" by My Morning Jacket. When I want to get a good head boppin' groove going, I put on some modern funk by Chromeo or Jungle.
Give me all the coffee, all day long -- the stronger the better! Nitro, cold brew, a latte with 4 shots of espresso, OH MY! That said, there's something truly magical about a hot cup of Cinnamon Chai tea during the fall season...can I just have both? (Oh yeah, they call that a Dirty Chai, and it's one of my all time FAVES!)
Absolutely I am a night owl! I get my best editing done late at night, after the kids are fast asleep. I did mention that I drink A LOT of coffee, right?!
I LOVE live entertainment! Whether I'm catching a concert at the Sylvie, laughing my you-know-what off at the Comedy Club on State, or watching a musical at The Overture Center, there is something amazing about the energy of live events that you just cannot get from a television (or iPhone) screen.
I adore nature and the great outdoors, but I can't keep a houseplant alive, I don't garden, and I hate camping. Go figure! Nothing but day-trip hiking for this girl.
"Smokey, this is not 'Nam. This is bowling. There are rules." Or basically anything said in The Big Lebowski...
I actually don't own many physical books, but I absolutely love audiobooks. Some of the most meaningful audiobooks I've enjoyed have been "You Are A Badass" by Jen Sincero, "The Alchemist" by Paulo Coelho, "To Shake the Sleeping Self" by Jedidiah Jenkins, "Way of the Peaceful Warrior" by Dan Millman, and "The Universe Has Your Back" by Gabrielle Bernstein. I really like "existential adventure books," apparently...?
Oh man, I really feel like I would fit in with the family in the Netflix series "Atypical." They are so delightfully disfunctional, and there is so much love between them. Their family interactions are heavy and deep, yet somehow playful and loving at the same time. Great show!
Virtual reality, hands down. When I see how far that technology has come in such a short period of time, I have no doubt it will absolutely transform the way we interact with our world in my lifetime. You can be IN a video game now! (I grew up playing the original Nintendo.) You can hollographically join a team meeting at work, from a completely different country. (I didn't get a cell phone until I was 18...and it didn't even have texting!) It's just thirlling to think about what the future holds.
I have a great passion for supporting regenerative farming (and promoting biodiversity in general), so I hope my work will connect with that community so I can help bring awareness to the importance of that practice and make it more mainstream for everyone.

Thank you for graciously lending me your gear while I was getting my footing, for always answering my "random question" text messages with even more advice than I was asking for, and for your support and encouragement on every step of my path. You were my dog-loving, Xbox-playing guardian angel.
